PTA

PTFP (Parents, Teachers and Friends of Plaistow) is the name of our PTA and we are are small but committed group of parents that organise a range of different events throughout the year. Over the last year this has included: Christmas and Summer fairs, Ladies nights, termly school discos, Bag 2 School collections, running raffles at assemblies and selling school tea towels.

The funds raised make a huge contribution to the resources which enhance the learning experiences and environment for all our children. In the past few years, our fundraising has paid for:

* digital cameras for every class           * lunchtime play equipment           * a projector and screen

* picnic benches                                     * playground markings                 * water bottles for each pupil

* reading dens for the both the Nursery and Foundation Stage     * role play panels for Yr1

* a costume trolley/theatre set for Yr2       * Maths Packs for every child    * 7 listening stations

 * ZooLab visit to the school    * We fund the Reading Champion gold, silver and bronze badges

* a donation of £100 per class (including Nursery) to spend on whatever the children chose

* a donation to the Plaistation After School Club for toys      * aprons

4*  x tablets for use in Year 1/Year 2 classes     *£860 donation towards the development of an outside garden

* £2000 towards new books for our library           * commemorative cups for each child to celebrate our school's 60th birthday.

All parents of every child within the school are automatically members of the PTFP and your contribution will be very welcome and most invaluable. We are always looking for volunteers to give us new ideas and to help and support at various events during the year.

5 reasons why we need your help!

1.We only have your children for a short time

Our PTA depends on a continual cycle of parent involvement because as a child reaches their final year and leave so do their parents. Without your support we have no PTFP!

2. Your involvement can be flexible

There are lots of ways you can help e.g. help out at a disco, run a stall at a fair. You don't have to attend all PTFP meetings but can still offer your help or suggest fundraising ideas

3. You can be more informed and make a difference

There is no better way to know what is being planned or is needed by the school than being part of it! By volunteering you are supporting the whole school community

4. Children need good role models

Being involved demonstrates good teamwork and community spirit. Your child will see you playing an active role in making their education more varied with additional experiences and resources

5. Have an impact

Your voices matters! Your ideas and involvement can help improve the quality of education for all children at Plaistow Hill and you will be able to see how all these 'extras' makes our school even better!

Please come and join us as your  contribution, however big or small, will be much appreciated!
