KS1 National Testing

Please click here to access a document for parents on National testing for children in Year 2.

Our year two children will be sitting their SATs on the weeks of 15th May and 22nd May. Please ensure your children arrive to school on time and have had a good breakfast.  Please don't talk to your children about the SATs to try to prepare them. The tests are very stress free here, and the less we talk about them, the less anxious the children feel. As far as they are concerned it is just a normal part of their school day!

Please click here for a guide on the National Phonics Screening for children in Year 1

We hope you find them useful but if you have any questions please come and talk to one of the teaching team

HOME LEARNING

We all know it is very important that the children are reading at home as much as possible and the children are rewarded as 'Reading Champions' if they read at home at least 3 times each week.  The children receive their home learning every Friday and hand it in on the following Thursday. Home learning will be based on the learning taking place in the classroom and will alternate between literacy and maths. In addition to this the children will also receive a pick 'n' mix of activities linked to our topic which they can choose from over the term.

OUTDOOR AREA

We are continuing to develop an outside area for the children to use for their learning in Year 2. If you would like to, please send into school some old trainers or wellies which the children can wear when outside. Thank you!

If you have any questions about our learning this term (or anything else) please come and see us.
